Day 115 – Youghal Beach

April 11, 2010 1 comment

A few minutes after taking this shot I locked my keys in the car. At least I had my camera to keep me busy while I waited to be rescued.

Day 105 – I’m back

A sunset from a beach in Cork Harbour.

It’s been a very busy month for me with work, renovating my sisters house,  a car crash, etc.  Oh well I’m back now, all is good.

I have loads of images from while I was ‘missing’ to upload over the next few days so posting may be a bit erratic as I catch back up.

I had plenty of time to think things over for the past few weeks. Things are gaining momentum and I finally feel like I’m actually getting somewhere.

One more for tonight

Day 83 – Rocky Bay

This is Rocky Bay in Cork, I had been meaning to go here for ages so decided to try and find it today. I was only out scouting the beach but ended up staying there for some time and filling a memory card. I should have set up the tripod.

Nothing yet but the night is still young.

Day 63 – Please don’t walk through my frame.

I arrived at my chosen location to find a 60-70mph wind blowing making things very difficult. Sand was been blown all over the place and just standing still was a problem. My initial plan had to be changed so I went in search of some smooth sand in the dunes. I eventually found a piece which hadn’t been walked on and took a few test shots to get an idea where best to place my tripod. I set up the tripod, took my bag off my back, attached the camera to the tripod and to my surprise a guy went deliberately out of his way off the track in the dunes to climb up to where I was. He then proceeded to around my tripod and walk straight through where I was setting up to make an image of. Some people.

Anyway I ended up with this eventually. I’m still playing with Silver Efex Pro so forgive the almost certain excessive amount of B&W images over the coming days.

I just organized my ‘office’ a bit better today, it’s amazing how much paperwork I’m accumulating already. More reading and planning but nothing that feels like a step up as yet. I suppose every bit counts though.

Day 49 – On the beach

I managed to get a few hours on a beach today. As you can see from the picture it was a mixed weather type of day here today. It’s great to be able to get outside in the daylight on the weekends.
