Roches Point Sunset

April 19, 2010 Leave a comment

I am finally going to a David Noton Workshop this weekend but I need to bring a few printed images that I am happy with.  Hopefully it will help me to step up the quality of the images I am producing.

Here are two from this weekend. I don’t think I’ll bring either of these.

Day 114 – Dawn Raid

April 10, 2010 1 comment

Took a trip back to Fota Castle for a dawn shoot.

Behind the castle is Fota Wildlife Park … was very strange hearing exotic animals calling out first thing in the morning in Ireland.

The next two images were taken about twenty five minutes before the one above. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should have done here? It was just slightly misty and I had an 0.6 Hard ND Grad on with the grad placed on the waterline. I really liked how the sky looked in that direction but feel I failed to show to scene as I saw it.. What should I have done?

Day 113 – Rocky Bay at Dusk

April 10, 2010 Leave a comment

Took a trip to Rocky Bay yesterday evening with this picture in mind. I’m not too familiar with the beach and had hoped that the low tide would allow me to get out a bit further. I got my feet wet trying to get this one.

It should be day 112 – Fota Castle

Fota Castle in Cork Harbour.

I’ve driven past this many times over the past few decades but never spotted it until recently. The tide wasn’t in the the most favourable states for today but I couldn’t resist taking a drive to this newly found location to have a few practice shots.

I’ll be back to improve on it.

Which composition do you think is better?

Day 99 – Kinsale

December 28, 2009 Leave a comment

Took a trip to kinsale this afternoon. Driving conditions have improved quite a bit around Cork now so I might venture further tomorrow.

Todays efforts involved using 24mm only, for learning purposes.

Manual Reading
I jumped forward a few pages to read page 212, specifications.

Photographers images studied
I started reading Mastering Landscape Photography by Briot today so have been studying the images in it.

Day 83 – Rocky Bay

This is Rocky Bay in Cork, I had been meaning to go here for ages so decided to try and find it today. I was only out scouting the beach but ended up staying there for some time and filling a memory card. I should have set up the tripod.

I browsed through some of the image on Best Camera application.
